[MNFIC] Gold in DIC Terrace Farming Competition at inter IIT Tech

Under the ambit of the Gymkhana the students undertook the task of building a robot for terrace farming - the only option left in the hilly regions of the northern and north eastern India. With inputs from Aditya Bandopadhyay (Mechanical Engg.) and Prof. D K Swain (AGFE) the team was able to fabricate a compact and reliable robot in the MN Faruqui Innovation Center.

The team showcased the fully-functioning robot at the Inter IIT Tech 8.0 held at IIT Roorkee and deservedly won the Gold medal.

We have shown how an electric field can lead to cluster and pattern formation of polyelectrolytes such as DNA at the interfaces of two fluids. The problem involves a careful understanding of electrophoresis and concomitant electroosmosis upon relative retardation of the molecules upon the action of an electric field.
